Ornamental Hair pins _ かんざし
Wooden hair pins- Japanese kanzashi
かんざし By local craftsman
Brendan van den Bemd.
He always enjoyed making art and using his creativity into various projects of his own and for artists. He explored carving bones and other materials while studying art and jewelry making in his twenties. His beautifully detailed craftmanship is seen in many of his Master piece.
His inspiration came from visiting japan and learning about the history of Japanese craftmanship, which leads to his style in making these hair pins by laminating fininly sliced timber and shaping them to wearable hair pieces, this traditional technique called Yosegi.
